IRVING, Texas – Charlotte junior Lisa Grosselius represented the 49ers’ women’s tennis team on the All-Conference USA Academic Team, as announced by the league office Wednesday afternoon. It marks her second-straight all-conference academic honor, as she also was selected to the 2013 All-Atlantic 10 Academic Team.

The Mölndal, Sweden, native led the Niners to the Conference USA Championships, where they finished with a 7-13 record after dropping a 4-3 decision to Southern Miss in Wednesday’s opening round.

She finished with 10 singles wins, one of three 49ers to reach the plateau, picking up seven in dual match action during the spring. She played all but a pair of her contests at the No. 2 singles position, sliding up to the top spot for the other two.

She added just three doubles victories, including a dual match triumph with freshman Briana Bodner against Western Carolina.

It marks the third-straight year in which a Charlotte player has earned an all-conference academic team plaudit and the seventh overall in school history. Grosselius joins Ali Piacente (2006, 2007) and Ana Spivakovsky (2008, 2009) as two-time recipients and is the only member of the seven to receive the accolade from Conference USA.
