CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte women’s basketball team recently spent time giving back to the community, completing two service projects. The 49ers read to a local elementary school and then assisted in a home build.

The women’s basketball team ended its summer with a trip to Greenway Park Elementary School in southeast Charlotte. It was part of a read to kids summer reading program and was supported by the Continuing Education department on-campus.

The Niners then went to the eastern part of the city and assisted in a Habitat for Humanity build for a young couple with three children. All 49ers who attended contributed to the construction of walls, doors and the house frame.

Charlotte women’s basketball continues to give back to the community through the years by participating in the Susan G. Koman Race for the Cure, Samaritan’s Feet, Toys for Tots, volunteered at Levine Children’s Hospital and the on-campus epilepsy walk.
