Charlotte's Dan Hendry has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Golf Player of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday. He was recognized for tournaments played during the week of Sept. 12-18.

Hendry led Charlotte for the second week in a row, finishing in a tie for fourth among the 81 golfers at the 7,242 yard-par 72 Tar Heel Invitational, which took place last weekend. The Dubai native carded a team-best 65 in the opening round, before firing 73-71 to close out the event at 7-under (209), while as a team, Charlotte finished third among the field of 14. Hendry owns Charlotte's best record (115-34) and win percentage (.772) this season. His strike average this season is one-over par through six rounds as a freshman. The Niners finished ahead of 11 teams, including a trio of ACC teams, future ACC member Notre Dame and a bevy of regional foes.

The 49ers will use two weeks to prepare for the Rees Jones Invitational, at Haig Point Club in Daufuskie Island, S.C., starting Monday, October 1.
