Mission Statement

The primary mission of the Student Aid Association is to support, strengthen and develop the intercollegiate athletic program at UNCW by raising funds to support athletic scholarships at UNCW.  It may also raise funds for the improvement and construction of physical facilities to be used by UNCW for athletic purposes and increase the university’s athletic scholarship endowment fund.  The Student Aid Association may also raise funds to provide operational and supplementary support for our entire sports program.

Ways to Give

Annual Cash Donations
Cash, checks made payable to the Seahawk Club, and MasterCard/Visa/American Express credit card transactions are the most common forms of annual support.

Matching Gifts
Many corporations match employee contributions. Gift credit is given for your personal donation and the company's matching gift. Contact your employer's human resources department to obtain the proper forms and to determine if your gift is eligible for a company match.

Planned Giving
A planned gift includes contributions made through a bequest, charitable lead trust, charitable remainder trust, life insurance policy, individual retirement account, charitable gift annuity, pooled income fund, and combinations of these gift vehicles. Appreciated securities and real estate are accepted by the Seahawk Club and UNCW.

Contributions of product, merchandise, equipment, or services are often provided in support of UNCW Athletics. These gifts may satisfy priority seating requirements. Gift-in-kind donations must receive approval from the Seahawk Club.

All Seahawk Club donations will be receipted and acknowledged by the University Of North Carolina Wilmington Office Of Development. Our fiscal year runs from July 1 through June 30.

For tax purposes, if you receive benefits for your donation, you are eligible to claim 80% of your total donation. If you choose to forfeit benefits in order to claim 100% of your donation, please check the appropriate box on the Pledge/Contribution form.
