CEDAR CITY, Utah - Feb. 14 - Cameron Levins and Kayla Kovar swept the Summit League Athlete of the Week awards after earning top ranks in the conference and NCAA at the Millrose Games and NAU Invitational on Feb. 11. Levins and Kovar each pick up their third career awards.
Levins raced to a seventh-place finish and an NCAA qualifying time of 3:57.16 in the historic Wanamaker Mile at the Millrose Games. Levins' time ranks eighth in the nation and set a new all-time record for Southern Utah.
Kovar claimed the award after finishing first in the shot put at the NAU Invitational with a Summit League-best toss of 52-6.5. Kovar's mark places her 23rd in the NCAA and also improved her previous SUU record.
Both T-Birds will be back to lead the track & field squads at the Summit League Indoor Championship, hosted by IPFW in Fort Wayne, Ind., on Feb. 24-25.
