Neubert leads Jacks at Oz

MINNEAPOLIS – The South Dakota State women’s cross country team finished in second place at the Oz Memorial on Friday night. Courtney Neubert led the Jackrabbits with a 17th place finish.

Neubert ran a time of 23:44.4. Minnesota’s women claimed the top seven spots.

Samantha Anderson and Jessica Eibs finished back-to-back to place 26th and 27th, respectively. Anderson ran a time of 24:26.0, while Eibs finished with a time of 24.26.8.

Laura Lawton, who was the top finisher for the Jackrabbits at the 2012 Oz Memorial, was the fourth Jackrabbit to cross the finish line this year. She clocked-in at 24:33.0 to take 34th.

Jenna Grossenburg finished less than two seconds (24:34.9) after Lawton to place 36th.

In 41st was Kirsten Anderson with her final time of 24:52.4.

Brooke Peterson ran a time of 25:02.4 to place 43rd.

The Jackrabbits will not compete again until the end of the month when they go back to the Les Bolstad Golf Course to run in the Griak Invitational. The Griak Invitational will be held on Sept. 28.
