Neubert paces the Rabbits in Fargo
FARGO, N.D. – The South Dakota State women’s cross country team began their season on Friday night at the Bison Open. The Jackrabbits had two runners finish in the top ten.
The race was originally scheduled for a 6k, but due to the extreme heat it was shortened to a 4k.
The Jackrabbits had five runners finish in a row. South Dakota State claimed the ninth through the 13th spots.
Jessica Eibs was only three seconds (15:27.72) behind Anderson to place 11th. Jenna Grossenburg took 12th overall with her time of 15:28.26. Kirsten Anderson rounded out that group with her 13th place finish (15:32.43).
Brooke Peterson took 15th with her time of 15:39.36.
Alex Suhr ran to a 21st place finish with her time of 15:52.54.
Karley Konkol and Megan West finished back-to-back with 29th and 30th place finishes, respectively. Konkol ran a time of 16:18.47, while West made her collegiate debut with her time of 16:19.67.
Taylor Lohan ran for the first time as a Jackrabbit at the Bison Open. Lohan clocked in at 16:33.05 to finish 34th.
Bobbie McLaury ran a time of 17:29.82 to place 44th.
As a team the Jackrabbits finished in third with 55 points.
The Jackrabbits will be back in action again next weekend at the OZ Memorial. The OZ Memorial is hosted by the University of Minnesota in Falcon Heights, Minn. The race is slated to take place on Friday, Sept. 6th at 5 p.m.
