Ary set to compete in Championships

Freshman jumper Jeremiah Ary will be competing in the long jump event this Friday at the USA Track and Field Junior Championships in Des Moines, Iowa. The USATF Junior Championships are for athletes between the ages of 16-19.

Back in May at The Summit League Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Ary placed third in the long jump event with his mark of 23’ 7.50”. His current personal best in the event is 23’ 8.00”, which he set a few weeks ago.

Ary noted that, “One of my goals during the outdoor season was to go to the USA Juniors.” “While everyone else is in their offseason, I have been training and getting ready to compete against some of the best athletes in the USA.”

The long jump competition is slated for a start time of 1:20 p.m. on Friday. There are 13 athletes competing in the long jump, the top eight jumpers will advance to the final round.
