AUSTIN, Texas – Three Jackrabbits competed on day two of NCAA West Preliminary Round. Brooke Garner competed in the discus throw, Kali Olson jumped in the high jump and Tera Potts ran in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

The discus throw was one of the first events to start the day and during the second flight of the event a six-hour rain delay started.

Garner was able to continue her throws later in the day. Garner ended up throwing a distance of 154’ 9.00” and she placed 31st in the event.

The high jump and the 3,000-meter steeplechase were originally scheduled for 6 p.m. and 8:50 p.m., respectively. The events were pushed back three hours to 9 p.m. and 11:50 p.m.

Olson cleared the 5’ 5.00” mark, but was unable to jump the height of 5’ 7.00”. She finished 42nd.

Potts was finally able to run in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 11:50 p.m. She ran a time of 10:54.14 to place 42nd overall.

Amy Paulzine will be throwing the javelin on the final day of the NCAA West Preliminary Round tomorrow at 5 p.m.
