KELLER, Texas -- The South Dakota State men’s golf team finished in 3rd place at the 2013 Summit League Golf Championships held at the 6,953-yard, par-72 Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club.

The Jacks shot rounds of 306, 299 and 307 for a three-day total of 912.

Freshman Miles Knutsen tied for 12th place at his first Summit tourney after carding rounds of 75, 74 and 79 for a tournament total of 228.

Knutsen finishes the year with eight top-25’s -- six this spring-- and four top-10’s for his young career.

Hudson Carpenter finished a stroke back at 229 with rounds of 78, 71 and 80 for a three-day total of 229. He finished in 14th place, which marks the eighth time in the 2012-13 season he’s been in the top-25 at tournament’s end.

The junior was selected as a member of the All-Summit League First Team at the Summit Golf Awards Banquet on Sunday night before the first round Monday.

Senior Greg Fehrman went out in style, ending his Jackrabbit career with an eagle on the par-5 18th hole.

Fehrman tied for 15th place with a three-day total of 230, carding rounds of 75, 79 and 76. He was named to the All-Summit League Second Team on Sunday.

Fehrman’s strong senior season puts him in the top-10 for many different categories, shown later on in the article.

Junior Lukas Davison scored 84, 75, and 77 for a three-round total of 236, finishing tied for 24th place.

Dillon Schultz finished just outside the top-25 with a tournament total of 237 after posting rounds of 78, 84 and 75. The sophomore tied for 26th place.

Kansas City (295-298-287-880) won the tournament with Korbin Kuehn, Antoine Rozner and Nathan Hughes going 1-2-3 on the player leader board and beating runner-up South Dakota by 19 strokes.

Kuehn was named Tournament Champion with his line of 69-78-69-216 (even par). Rozner took Newcomer of the Tournament and runner-up honors after finishing one stroke behind teammate Kuehn.

Due to the lack of spring weather, this year’s Dakota Cup has been called off.
