Jacks in 3rd at Summit League Championship
KELLER, Texas -- Hudson Carpenter fired the only under-par score of any golfer at The Summit League Golf Championship in round two on Tuesday and has the Jacks sitting in 3rd place heading into the final round.
The junior began the round tied for 24th place, but fired a 71 (-1) thanks to four birdies, bumping him up to 9th place with a two-day total of 149.
Carpenter posted a 78 in round one on Monday and sits four strokes behind the leader, Kansas City’s Antoine Rozner (69-75-144).
Also tied for 9th place, freshman Miles Knutsen (149) shot a 74 with three birdies in round two after posting a 75 in the opening round Monday.
Greg Fehrman is also in the top-25, tied for 17th place, and has a 36-hole total of 154. The senior posted a 75 in the opening round and a 79 in round two on Tuesday.
Junior Lukas Davison came back with a round 75 after posting an 84 in the first round and is tied for 30th with a two-day total of 159 heading into play Wednesday.
Dillon Schultz is tied for 34th after rounds of 78 and 84, with a two-round score of 162.
The Jacks shot a team score of 298 on Tuesday, bumping up from the 5th place spot after a round of 306 on Monday for a 36-hole score of 605.
SDSU is eight strokes behind 2nd place South Dakota (299-298-597) and 12 strokes back of leader Kansas City (295-298-593) heading into the final round.
The men’s field tees-off at 8 a.m. Wednesday morning.
