SDSU 7th down in Texas
KELLER, Texas -- Day two of The Summit League Golf Championship is in the books and South Dakota State stands in 7th place heading into the third and final round at the 6,119-yard, par-72 Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club.
The Jacks shot 340 as a team and have a 36-hole score of 685.
Morgan Fitts stands alone in 2nd place after being tied for 2nd after round one. The senior lead the Jacks on Tuesday with a 77.
Fitts has a two-day total of 153 after posting a 76 in the opening round on Monday. She’s four strokes back of North Dakota State’s Amy Anderson (76-73-149), who is 5-over par, heading into their final Summit League rounds of golf.
Sydney MacDonald is tied for 33rd place with a round two score of 91. The freshman carded an 85 in round one and has a 36-hole score of 176.
Sophomore Amber Houser has a two-day total of 179 with rounds of 90 and 89 on Monday and Tuesday, respectively. She’s in 35th place entering play Wednesday.
Fellow sophomore Alli Plath is tied for 41st place after a round of 89 Tuesday. With a 94 in the opening round, Plath has a two-day total of 183.
Freshman Brianna Janu is in 44th place after posting an 85 in round two. Combined with her score of 101 Monday, Janu has a two-round total of 186.
NDSU holds a commanding 24-stroke lead over Kansas City heading into the final round. The Bison have four golfers in the top-10: Anderson in 1st, Hailey Boner in 3rd, Abby Knutson in 4th and Sarah Storandt in 9th.
The Summit League Golf Championship closes out play Wednesday morning with the women’s field teeing-off at 10:15 a.m.
