FARGO, N.D. – The South Dakota State softball team dropped a pair of games on Tuesday on Gates City Field in the Fargodome, falling to host North Dakota State by the scores of 4-0 and 10-1.

The losses drop the Jackrabbits to 14-26 on the season overall and to 4-13 in The Summit League, while the Bison improve to 24-13 overall and remain atop the league standings with an 11-0 mark.

NDSU starting pitcher Whitney Johnson stole the show in the opener, tossing seven no-hit innings with just one walk to boost her record to 17-6.

The Jacks got three hits in the nightcap, including an RBI single from Lauren Chirnside in the top of the fourth that scored Marlee Petersen, but that only cut the score to 8-1.

The Bison got that run back, plus one more in the bottom of the fourth, and then sat the Jacks down in order in the fifth to secure the win.

The Jackrabbits look to snap the season-long five game skid on Wednesday at noon in the series finale with the Bison.
