SDSU men in 5th after day one
KELLER, Texas -- The South Dakota State men’s golf team stands in 5th place after shooting a 306 in the opening round of the 2013 Summit League Golf Championship on Monday.
This year’s conference tourney is taking place at the 6,953-yard, par-72 Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club.
SDSU sits three strokes behind 4th place North Dakota State (303) and 11 strokes back of leader Kansas City (295).
The Jacks have two golfers in the top-10 after day one of the three-day tourney.
Junior Hudson Carpenter is tied for 24th place and sits at 6-over par after a day one score of 78.
Sophomore Dillon Schultz is also tied for 24th place with a day one score of 78 and is 6-over par.
Junior Lukas Davison shot an 84, 12-over par, and is tied for 38th place.
Kansas City sits atop the team leader board after the first round thanks to Korbin Kuehn and Antoine Rozner each posting a 69 in the opening round. The Roos teammates are tied for first place heading into day two.
The second round begins Tuesday morning with the first men’s group teeing-off at 10:15 a.m.
