Jacks in 5th at COG Mizzou Intercollegiate

COLUMBIA, MO. -- The Jackrabbit men’s golf team sits in 5th place after 36 holes at the Sixth Annual Columbia Orthopedic Group Mizzou Intercollegiate.

South Dakota State shot team scores of 292 and 298 (590) in the opening two rounds on Monday on the 7,221-yard, par-72 course, The Club at Old Hawthorne, in Columbia, Mo. 

The Jacks have three golfers in the top-25 heading into the final round on Tuesday.

Hudson Carpenter is one-over par and tied for 16th place after rounds of 72 and 73 (145). The junior posted four birdies and an eagle in the first round, but four bogeys and a double bogey left him at even par. 

Carpenter had two more birdies in round two along with three bogeys to finish at one-over for the round. 

Miles Knutsen is right behind Carpenter, sitting in 20th place after posting rounds of 71 and 75 (146). The freshman posted two birdies and an eagle in round one with only three bogeys, which left him at one-under par.

In round two, Knutsen carded three birdies and three bogeys along with a double bogey to finish at plus-three for the round.

Junior Lukas Davison posted back-to-back rounds of 74 (148) and is tied for 24th place. Davison notched two birdies and four bogeys in round one and four birdies, four bogeys and a double bogey in round two to finish at four-over par after 36 holes.

Dillon Schultz is tied for 38th place after rounds of 75 and 76 (151). The sophomore is seven-over par heading into the final round. Schultz carded four birdies in round one but also put up seven bogeys to finish at three-over par for the opening round.

Schultz finished at four-over par in the second round with two birdies and six bogeys.

Greg Fehrman is tied for 48th place after two rounds of 77 (154). The senior is 10-over par entering the final round on Tuesday.

Competing as an individual, freshman A.C. Sitter is in 64th place after rounds of 82 and 84 for a 36-hole total of 166.

Host University of Missouri is atop the leader board on the team and individual side. 

Emilio Cuartero shot rounds of 68 and 69 (137) and sits seven-under par heading into day two of the tournament. 

The Tigers posted rounds of 277 and 280 (557) as a team and hold a 16-stoke lead over Austin Peay State and the rest of the 12-team field heading into the final round.

The third and final round of the tournament kicks-off with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
