South Dakota State University guard Ashley Eide has been honored on the Capital One Academic All-America Second Team for the second year in a row, becoming the first Jackrabbit women's basketball player to earn the recognition more than once.

A senior from Sioux Falls, Eide was named to the honor squad Thursday after compiling a 3.97 grade-point average while majoring in health, physical education and recreation. She ranks second on the team in scoring this season with an average of 13.7 points per game, while also ranking second with 37 steals, 64 assists and 43 three-pointers. Eide reached the 1,000-point mark for her career in a Feb. 16 game at Western Illinois.

Eide was one of three Summit League players named to the Capital One Women's Basketball Academic All-America Team. Amanda Hyde of Fort Wayne joined Eide on the second team, while Omaha's Paige Frauendorfer was a third-team honoree. Selections are made by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
