Fall Academic Honor Roll announced

ELMHURST, Ill. − With the first semester of the 2012-13 academic year complete, The Summit League has announced its Academic Honor Roll for the fall season. A total of 56 South Dakota State University student-athletes from men’s and women’s cross country, women’s soccer and volleyball were honored for their academic excellence.

Jackrabbit student-athletes honored were: 
WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY (18): Kirsten Anderson, Samantha Anderson, *Laura Bauer, Katie Boote, Cheyanne Bowers, *Krista Creager, *Jessica Derby, Jessica Eibs, *Jenna Grossenburg, Laura Lawton, *Bobbie McLaury, *Courtney Neubert, *Brooke Peterson, *Tera Potts, *Bobbie Sedlmajer, *Andrea Weeder, *Laura Wolles, *Rochelle Wynia.
WOMEN'S SOCCER (16): *Alyssa Brazil, *Caylee Costello, Kristina Ehrett, Megan Graf, Stacy Guijarro, *Courtney Higgins, Megan Huegli, Megan Kingston, *Katie McNeary, Darci Miller, Sheridon Newberry, *Hannah Phillips, *Diana Potterveld, Delaney Ratcliffe, *Brittany Sipp, *Elisa Stamatakis.

MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY (10): *Jared Ailts, *Connor Branick, Christian Karels, *Kipp Kinsley, *Drew Kraft, *Phillip Lavallee, *Lars Mattision, Dylan Slaba, *Andrew Thies, Grant VanKeulen.

In order to be selected to the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have a 3.0 or better grade-point average in the semester in which they compete and must use a year of eligibility. Distinguished Scholars, which were named earlier and denoted with an asterisk (*), are student-athletes who posted at least a 3.60 GPA.

Oakland landed a league-high 73 selections, followed by Kansas City with 63 honorees. Student-athletes from men's soccer were also included in the fall Academic Honor Roll.
