With the home opener still more than four months away, South Dakota State has already set an all-time high for football season ticket sales.

As of May 2, a total of 2,610 season tickets have been purchased during the 2012 football season ticket campaign. Season ticket numbers have grown five years in a row, with the previous record of 2,583 set last season.

"Our fans are some of the best in the Midwest, and they continue to show tremendous support for our student-athletes," SDSU Director of Athletics Justin Sell said.

The 2012 home schedule consists of five home dates, starting with the 17th annual Cereal Bowl Sept. 15 against UC Davis.

Season tickets remain available at a cost of $110 per seat plus a $50 contribution to the Jackrabbit Club, which helps provide scholarship support to Jackrabbit student-athletes. Season ticket holders also will have the first opportunity to purchase additional single-game tickets for all five home games starting on July 16.
