DURHAM, N.C. -- Duke Athletics currently ranks tied for ninth in the latest Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings, released on Thursday by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.
Duke has secured 377.00 total points and is among three ACC schools ranked in the top 10, joining Florida State (2nd) and Notre Dame (8th). Stanford leads the overall rankings with 596.25 total points.
On the year, the Blue Devils have earned points in field hockey (90), football (52), women’s soccer (73), volleyball (50), women’s cross country (28), women’s indoor track and field (30.5) and men’s indoor track and field (53.5).
The second Division I winter standings will be released on April 10.
The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's national finish in up to 20 sports -- 10 women’s and 10 men’s.
