DURHAM, N.C. -- With the fall semester behind them and the Chick-fil-A Bowl looming on Dec. 31, mMembers of the Duke football team stepped away from the field for several hours Thursday to volunteer at the Duke Children's Hospital and Ronald McDonald House.

Duke took close to 20 participants to each locale. At the Ronald McDonald House, the Blue Devils split into teams to organize Christmas presents for the residents and help with various housekeeping responsibilities. Check out the attached video from Blue Devil Network to learn more.

Since 1980, the Ronald McDonald House of Durham has provided loving shelter to more than 20,000 families whose children were being treated in local hospitals, weaving their stories into the fabric that makes their House a home. For more information, visit http://www.ronaldhousedurham.org/.

At the Duke Children's Hospital, the Blue Devils visited with patients. The Duke Children's Hospital provides medical care to children suffering from a host of diseases and conditions, many of which are terminal. Duke has established a strong relationship with the hospital over the past several years and makes several trips each semester to visit with the children.
