DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women’s rowing team hosted its annual Row for the Cure event Friday on Duke’s West Campus quad to raise money for breast cancer research and awareness in partnership with Komen for the Cure.
The Blue Devils spent 12 hours on ergs in the middle of one of the highest foot traffic areas on campus, urging their fellow Duke students to donate money and buy Duke Row for the Cure tank-tops. All money raised will be donated to Komen for the Cure.
The 2013 edition of Row for the Cure was Duke’s seventh straight year hosting the event. The team has raised over $50,000 since the inaugural campaign and has raised over $5,000 online before this year’s event began Friday.
The team is still accepting donations online at http://www.crowdrise.com/fundraise_and_volunteer/the-team/rowforthecure.
