DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke baseball team completes a home-and-home series against Southern Conference opponent Davidson this week, traveling to the Wildcats’ Wilson Field Tuesday for a 6 p.m. game.

The Blue Devils won the two teams’ first meeting of the 2013 campaign, a 9-3 decision April 2 at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Junior Matt Berezo went 3-for-4 with a season-high three RBI, while sophomore Grant McCabe went 3-for-5 with three runs scored in the contest. Freshman right-hander James Marvel threw five complete innings with a career-best seven strikeouts in the win.
Duke (25-23, 9-15 ACC) looks to rebound following a 4-3 loss at Liberty Sunday. The Blue Devils were off the week prior to the Liberty contest due to final exams.
Davidson (15-30, 10-17 SoCon) is coming off a series win over conference foe The Citadel this past weekend. The Wildcats fell to the Bulldogs, 22-7, in the series opener before taking both games of a Saturday doubleheader, 6-4 and 12-8.
Tuesday’s game marks the 139th meeting between the two schools. The two teams first faced one another in 1902 and have met at least once in every season since 1987. The Blue Devils lead the all-time series 105-30-1.
Duke returns to ACC action with a trip to Virginia this weekend. The Blue Devils face the Cavaliers in a three-game set, starting Friday at 6 p.m., at UVa’s Davenport Field.
