Setting the Scene

  • Duke makes its first road trip of the season to take on Pennsylvania, Feb. 22 at Franklin Field at 7 p.m.
  • The Blue Devils, ranked 14th in the coaches poll, are 2-2 with losses to current No. 11 Denver and No. 3 Notre Dame and wins over Jacksonville and Mercer.

Penn is coming off of a 3-10 season in 2012 ... The Quakers return second leading scorer Tim Schwalje (18g, 13a, 31pts) and Ryan Parietti (16-4-20) ... Both Dan Feeney and Joe McCallion are back at the faceoff X after splitting draw duties a year ago ... The Quakers top takeaway artists, Zack Losco and Anthony Santomo return after posting 20 caused turnovers apiece in 13 games ... Brian Feeney is back between the pipes for Penn after posting a 9.44 goals against average and .487 save percentage ... He was in net as a rookie when the Quakers handed the Blue Devils a 7-3 loss.

Last Time Duke and Penn Met
Josh Dionne netted four goals and Jordan Wolf added three as Duke used a 6-2 run to break open an 8-4 halftime lead ... Penn pulled within three in the third quarter, but Dionne added two scores in the final minute of the third frame to secure the four-goal victory ... Kyle Turri manned the cage with seven saves ... Dan Savage and John Conneely had three goals apiece for the Quakers.

With the Extra Man
Duke has fared much better this season than last on extra man offense ... The Blue Devils already have eight man-up scores after notching just 17 in 20 games last season ... Duke is successful in 57 percent of its man-up chances in 2013 with Wolf leading the squad with five extra-man tallies, one more than his two previous seasons combined.

Fowler leads faceoff Game
Junior Brendan Fowler has been outstanding at the faceoff X for the Blue Devils this season ... Fowler has won at least 10 draws in every game this season and is averaging an ACC-best 10 ground balls per game ... He owns 65.6 percent success rate at the draw, good for third in the ACC, while his 15.25 wins per game are the most in the conference ... Fowler has twice picked up a career-high 11 ground balls this season.

Duprey Manning the Defense
Junior longstick midfielder Luke Duprey had a career game against Notre Dame with a career-high five turnovers and four ground balls ... The five caused turnovers are the second most by a Blue Devil since the NCAA started tracking the stat in 2010 ... Only Tom Montelli '11 had more with six against Sacred Heart in 2010 ... Duprey leads Duke with 10 caused turnovers as the Blue Devils top the ACC with 8.25 takeaways per game this season.

Wolf Dishing and Scoring
Junior attckman Jordan Wolf leads all Duke players in goals (13) and assists (6) this season and is one of two players in the ACC to rank in the top five in both goals and assists per game ... Wolf ranks third in goals per game (3.25) and fifth in assists per game (1.50).

Wolf Climbing Career Points List
Wolf's 19 points this season have pushed him into a tie for 24th on the Duke career scoring charge with 135 points ... He is 14 points shy of moving into a tie for the 20th position and is 63 points out of the top 10 ... In 44 career games, he has amassed 135 career points from 76 goals and 59 assists ... He tallied 51 points in his rookie season and had 65 points his sophomore campaign.

Wolf Among Nation's Assists Leaders
Junior attackman Jordan Wolf is among 14 current Division I players with at last 50 career assists ... Wolf has 59 career helpers, including six this season to rank 10th nationally ... Wolf is the top junior overall as only he and Kieran McArdle of St. John's have broken the 50-assist threshold in two-plus seasons of collegiate lacrosse.

Wolf Riding Point Scoring Streak
With at least a point in all four games this season, Wolf has pushed his point scoring streak to 24 games, ranking 11th in Division I lacrosse ... In the past 24 games, the Wynnewood, Pa., native has 45 goals, 39 assists for 84 points ... He has been held without a point in just five games in his career.         

Wolf Career Hat Tricks
Sophomore Jordan Wolf owns 12 career hat tricks, the most of all Division I juniors ... Overall, Wolf has three-plus points in 25 of his 44 career games.
