MIAMI (July 25, 2012) - FIU Golf walk-on tryouts for the 2012-13 season will be held on Saturday, Sept. 1 at 3 p.m. at the Biltmore Hotel Golf Course in Coral Gables.
Prospective walk-ons must fill out the attached registration packet in advance, to be submitted on Aug. 30, between 1-3 p.m., to the FIU Athletics Training Room, U.S. Century Bank Arena (USCBA) Room 156. Paperwork brought in outside of those hours will not be accepted.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
1. Student must be full-time, i.e. registered for 12 or more credits. Class schedule must be brought on August 30.
2. Student must have their own insurance.
3. Student must be tested for sickle cell.
4. Student must have a recent physical. (Either by their primary physician or FIU Health Center)
5. Student must be registered with the NCAA eligibility center and qualify for D1 competition.
CLEARED STUDENTS ONLY will then bring signed-off paperwork to Nika Cleary in USCBA 266 by Aug. 31 at 10 a.m.
Prospective walk-ons will then meet at the Biltmore Hotel Golf Course on Sept. 1 at 3 p.m. where Coach Joe Vogel will proceed with the tryout. You must have your own transportation.
