INDIANAPOLIS (May 1, 2012) --- Senior Katie Mundy has been selected to participate in the NCAA East Regional held at Penn State's Blue Course in State College, Pa., on May 10-12, announced by the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Committee on Monday, April 30.

Mundy, a native of Hampshire, England, is coming off a second-place finish the 2012 Sun Belt Conference Championship, where the All-SBC selection led the first two days of the event before losing the individual title on a one-hole playoff in round three. On the year, Mundy leads the conference with a stroke average of 73.96 through 27 rounds. Her best finish was the second-place result in the SBC Tournament, in which Mundy shot a 1-under-par, 215; her best score of the year. She has twice shot a season-best, 3-under-par, 69, to tie her career-low for a round. Mundy has posted seven top-20 finishes this season.

Three regional tournaments will be conducted May 10-12 to determine the championship field. Regional tournaments are considered preliminary rounds of NCAA Championship competition, and all national championship policies apply.
