2014 Single-Game Ticket Information
Single Game tickets will go on sale Monday, July 28, 2014, to Bulldog Club members and Monday, August 4, 2014 for the general public.
Mississippi State Athletics will be using dynamic pricing for individual game tickets sold in non-season ticket areas of Davis Wade Stadium. The dynamic pricing area will include sections 301 to 313 on the upper level of the west side. These seats are sold individually when a visiting team does not receive a maximize allotment of tickets. By doing this we feel we will provide our fans greater choice when purchasing tickets as well as offering prices that better reflect market value.
With dynamic pricing, ticket rates for home games can fluctuate based on factors affecting supply and demand including game time, opponent, ranking and more. Buy early and save, as we will start at our lowest price “floor price” in each area when tickets go on-sale. Each week we will adjust the price based on factors such as opponent, national ranking, weather, game date/time and remaining ticket inventory in specific seating locations.
Dynamically priced single game tickets will never move below the original list “floor” price by area and will generally increase over time as inventory decreases. Fans that purchase early are more likely to get the best pricing. Also note that any tickets sold within a season ticket sales area will continue to be the season price plus the pro-rated bulldog club seat obligation amount and do not get changed.
The diagram below shows the west side upper level and the three tiered pricing areas we will price dynamically at Davis Wade Stadium.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: What is dynamic pricing?
A: The act of changing the price of a specific seating section for a specific game over time. This does not necessarily mean that every section of every game will be affected. Dynamic pricing is widely accepted within the hotel, airline and professional sports industries. Many college athletic departments are starting to use the method as well and we are trying it out on a limited basis this year.
Q: How are ticket price changes decided?
A: Adjustments will be made based on multiple factors such as demand, scarcity, team performance, visiting team performance, etc., however, Mississippi State Athletics will always price these tickets lower than the average listed secondary ticket price (provided the secondary market does not go below our initial floor price.
Q: Will this affect Season Ticket Holders prices?
A: No. This only applies to single-game tickets and only seats in that are not available on a season basis.
Q: How do you decide if single-game tickets are available?
A: Single game tickets are available for any game that we have not sold locations on a season basis or have tickets that are held for visiting team or contractual agreements that are not taken for a game. In resent years we have sold out of our regular season ticket areas and have only had individual game tickets available for games that the visiting team did not take or sell their full allotment.
Q: What happens if prices are lowered after I buy my ticket?
A: Tickets are always priced based on market demand. While prices typically increase leading up to a game, there may be times where prices decrease should conditions fit. As with all of our tickets, all sales are final. NOTE, purchase early to get the best price!
Q: Does this change how I purchase my tickets?
A: Not at all. Fans will be able to continue to purchase their single game tickets the same way they have in the past, online through HailState.com, by calling 1-888-GO-DAWGS or (662) 325-2600, or at the athletic ticket office.
